Last week, the cabinet took the decision to send troops to Lebanon. This plan will now be presented to parliament on September 5.
Meanwhile the anti-imperialist, revolutionary and democratic organizations, trade-unions and chambers of professions e. g. the doctors or lawyers are making statements and calls to come to Ankara and be in front of the parliament building on September 5 in order to exercise pressure on the MPs and avoid the adoption of the plan to send troops, the AKP organizes a party meeting in order to not experience once more the same as on March 1, 2003, when a demonstration of hundred thousand anti-imperialists exercised pressure on the MPs and stopped the plan to send troops to Iraq. The Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan delivered a speech on August 20 under the title "Appeal to the nations" where he said that the opposition against the plan is based on the illness to be against everything the government does.
According to the plan, the government will decide on how many soldiers will be send for one year to Lebanon.
