Giving a cell punishment of 20 days to Abdullah Ocalan, the leader of PKK who is imprisoned at the Imrali Prison, just before the International Peace Day, the fascist dictatorship have repeated its traditional answer to Kurdish peoples’ demands of peace and freedom: “denial and annihilation”.

This situation has been the target of the anger of various components of the Kurdish National Movement. The political prisoners in different prisons have declared that they will start a two-day-hunger strike, will refuse the visits and will realize indefinite hunger strikes if the process develops in the same way. The Peoples’ Democratic Initiative has distributed leaflets in the districts of Istanbul, while the youth have blocked the street with Molotov cocktails in the Sakirpasa district in Adana. In this act, the cell punishment against Ocalan was protested as well as the extrajudicial execution in Adana shouting the slogan “Fevzi Abik is immortal!” and kept silence for one minute for the memory of Fevzi Abik. The protesters have also shouted the slogans “PKK is here, don’t search it on the mountains!” and “Youth, to the front, to HPG (Defense Forces of the People)!”
Another action with Molotov cocktails was realized and the street was blocked in the district Nurtepe in Istanbul, with the slogan “Our decision on peace or war depends on the attitude to Ocalan!”.
A banner with bomb was hanged on Goztepe Bridge in the highway E-5 in Istanbul. The Peoples’ Democratic Initiative in Siirt announced that it will start a two-day-hunger strike to protest the punishment.
On the other hand, the fascist dictatorship intensifies its attacks in Northern Kurdistan. It has formed a new division in Yuksekova in the province Hakkari called “3rd Tactical Division”.
