On 13 August, Socialist Platform of the Oppressed ( ESP ) organised a press meeting in Istanbul Beyoglu against transportation of ammunitions from the Incirlik Military Base in Adana. In their statement, the ESP activists said that Israel is the last stop of the transportation and that it happens as a result of the agreement for military cooperation that Turkey signed with the USA and Israel. They demanded the cancellation of all agreements made with Israel and ending all contacts with it. In the press meeting, where an Israel flag was set fire, the activists called on people to struggle against the NATO and USA bases.

The closure of NATO bases, at first the Incirlik Base, have always been involved in the demands of the anti-imperialist movement of Turkey and Northern Kurdistan and, in particular, it has became the scene of many actions during the USA imperialism's occupation of Iraq.
