The Socialist Platform of the Oppressed ( ESP ), which speeded up its campaign towards the coming local elections that will be held on 28 March in Turkey, at the same, actively takes part and tries to carry one step forward the resistances of workers, labourers and students against the collaborationist AKP government that tries to implement reconstruction attacks through neo-liberal attacks and privatizations,

On 30th January, Kristal-Is, affiliated with the union confederation Turk-Is , started a strike that includes 6 companies and 13 workplaces belonging to Sisecam throughout Turkey. 5.000 workers, who at the same day put a banner up saying "there is a strike in this workplace", have started a challenge with the bosses of Sisecam. ESP, who con- sidered the strike as the resis-tance of all oppressed people, called upon all oppressed people to struggle against the neo-liberal attacks of the collaborationist AKP government together with the Sisecam workers. With the perspective of organising the united people's resistance, ESP have distributed leaflets and made agitation in the factories and passing-points of the workers in different neighbourhoods.

On the 7th of February, the Solidarity Commission with the Sisecam Workers, which was formed by ESP, handed out leaflets in the Gazi neighbourhood of Istanbul to carry the voice of the Sisecam workers to the neighbourhoods where labourers live.

On the 8th of February, the people from ESP were attacked by the police during the march that was organised in Istanbul-Umraniye 1 May Neighbourhood in support of ongoing strike of the glass workers. Despite to the police tanks, people from ESP have defended their legitimate and rightful actions with shouting slogans like "Sisecam workers will win", "revolt, strike, serhildan against slavery laws" and fought with the police by forming barricades. Although 8 people from ESP were taken into detention, people from the neighbourhood defended ESP activists those who continued their resistance. Labourers in the borough have thrown stones to the policemen by coming out from their houses and cafE9 shops. The strike has been banned on 14th of February, 16 days after its start. Through the press conference held in front of the Central Office of Is Bank on 18th of February, ESP have protested the postponing (banning) of the strike by the Ministry Assembly under the pretext of "damaging the general health and the national security".

Bossa workers, who took the streets on 11th of February in order to protest sacking of 398 Bossa workers because of being organised in the Adana textile branch of DISK , were also supported by their class brothers in the region. Their action, which took place at InF6nFC square and was a good example of class solidarity, was supported by many mass organisations and parties, including Mensa workers, Council workers, students from Cukurova University, ESP and EKP. Nearly 1.000 people attended the meeting with the slogans "Bossa workers are not alone" and "Mensa, Bossa unite".

The resistance of the workers, who were discharged because of being member of the union Birlesik Metal Is, in Kimmet Factory in Izmir Cigli Organised Industrial Area, is still continuing. The workers, those who are waiting in front of the factory since 30th of January by demanding to go back to their work as being members of the trade union, were visited by a group of 300 people from Genel-Is members, Birlesik Metal-Is members, workers from ESP and the directors of TKP and EMEP .

During the demonstration that was organised by KESK in order to protest Principle Law of Public Management on 21st of February in Amed (Diyarbakir) and supported by various trade unions and democratic mass organisations, the police have attacked the ESP block. The trade unionists, workers and public sector workers coming from Malatya, Van, Bitlis, Adiyaman, Urfa, Sirnak, Elazig, Dersim, and Mardin provinces have came together at the Diyarbakir Station and protested the draft of Principle Law of Public Management. About 7.000 people attended the demo.

ESP activists coming from other cities of Kurdistan have joined the meeting by uniting with ESP activists from Amed despite of being stopped frequently by the police at the entrance of Amed. ESP activists, who carried a banner saying "No passage to the slavery law" and wear aprons saying "the only way is revolution", "Unity, Struggle, Solidarity" and "vote for independent revolutionary socialist candidates", have entered to the meeting point with the slogan of "Unity, Struggle, Victory". The police attacked the ESP block at the search-point. ESP activists have resisted to the police and defended their right. Later, they were surrounded and violently beaten by the Special Forces and the police from the anti-terror branch. 35 of them were taken into detention and tortured.
