De Kuba from Cuba, the dance group Latin Fire from Cuba and Brazil and the music group Frapom from Venezuela.
From the glorious struggles against colonisation until now, Latin America, the continent of resistance, has yet created itself a reputation as a rebellious continent.
This tradition of resistance continued with the revolution in Cuba and the struggle against US-imperialism, that considers Latin America as its hinterland, since the 60's and 70's.

Latin America has a wide range of experience and examples of resistance, revolts, street barricades, occupation of land and factories, and of downfalls of neo-liberal presidents that lead to the construction of progressive governments in some countries. These experiences, especially those of the anti-imperialist struggle, shall be conveyed to the people of Turkey/ Northern Kurdistan through meeting the culture of the Latin American people. With this festival, it is also aimed to support the anti-imperialist struggle of the Latin American people and working class in context of international solidarity.

The fascist regime in Turkey wants to strangle the struggle of this people by racist and chauvinist provocations against the Kurdish people. By poisoning the Turkish workers and labourers, it aims to estrange them from their class identity and to organise them within their own ranks. Chauvinism is also the reason for the estrangement of other people's culture and struggle.
The Latin America Festival is a step to oppose to this tendency and shows that the interests of the working class and the labourers all over the world against imperialism are the same and that they lead the same struggle. The experiences of the Latin American peoples' common struggle will contribute to develop the need to unite against imperialism in the region of the Middle East. With this international street festival, broad masses are addressed to through flexible and cultural means and the anti-imperialist struggle and Proletarian Internationalism are strengthened against the wave of chauvinism. The cultural festival is the concrete expression of international solidarity.
