The election results from July 22 show that the regime crisis, which emerged from the presidential elections, has not been solved yet but continues even deepening. The government party AKP won the early general elections with a great lead. According to the elections results, the AKP got 46, 54% (16.340.534 votes), the CHP got 20, 79% (7.300.234 votes), the MHP 14, 29% (5.004.003 votes), the DP 5, 40% (1.895.807 votes) and the independent candidates got in total 5, 19% (1.822.253 votes). According to these results, the distribution of the seats for the parties which enter the parliament is as following: AKP 342 seats, CHP 112, MHP 70 and the independent candidates have in total 26 (22 of the are of the DTP ).
Thus, the number of parties represented in the parliament will be 7-8. However, only the AKP, CHP, MHP and DTP have the right to form their own fraction in the parliament.
The high turnout in the elections has shown how important the elections have been for the society. 36 millions of electors out of 42, 5 did vote. The turnout was over 84%. Meanwhile around 13 million of people did not participate in the elections in 2002, this number decreased to 7 millions this year.
The election results show that the conflicts among the bourgeois cliques are not finished but on the contrary going on deepening. In order to impede that the palace of Cankaya, considered as the last "bulwark of the republic" falls also into the hands of the Islamic AKP, the army declared: "The problem that occurred during the presidential elections in the last days is now centralized in the discussion on secularism. The Turkish Armed Forces are watching this situation with concern. It should not be forgotten that the Turkish Armed Forces are partial in this debate and are a staunch defender of secularism. The Turkish armed forces are strictly against those debates and any negative comments and will display openly and clearly its position and attitudes when it becomes necessary. Nobody should doubt this." The army, who suffered a defeat together with the CHP, the party it supported in the elections, underlined in a threatening way that it is biased at the presidential elections
The statement of the army dated April 12 and after that the memorandum dated April 27 were an open expression that the army tries to lead the political developments. These conflicts among the bourgeois cliques, which started with the statement and the memorandum, will continue with different means in the time to come.

- The AKP, which had the USA and the EU, thus the most important centres playing an important role in the dependency relations of Turkey from imperialism, behind it also played the role of a victim due to the military repression and got more votes than expected and so came out with more power from the elections. Given the fact that one more party got through the 10% threshold and also the independent candidates entered the parliament, the number of seats of the AKP decreased. Only in this sense, in the sense of a lower number of seats in the parliament, the army could reduce the AKP!

- The majority of in total 36 million electors has shown that they did not agree with the army intervening in the political developments and showed their disapproval to the threats of a putsch.

- The putsch treats of the army, that it intervenes into politics, impeded that the broad masses did question the neo-liberal politics of the AKP. So, although anti-Americanism is popular in the country, the electors could not see that the USA stands in the first place of those supporting the AKP; that the AKP is responsible for unemployment, misery, and hunger in the country; that the IMF and TUSIAD are among those who apply the neo-liberal politics and that they also supported the AKP. The electors could not question the collaboration of the AKP with imperialism.

- The AKP did renew the trust of the USA and the EU in itself and now will continue to apply the neoliberal attacks with even more force and without any protest against its masters. The living conditions of the workers and labourers will continue to get even worse.

- The election results let to a political situation unexpected for both bourgeois cliques. It was clear, that AKP would be the strongest party, but even this party did not expect to get so many votes, to gain the majority and form the government (the AKP has 40% more votes than before).

It was expected that the "secular front" would gain force from the "Republic meetings", participated by millions of people and that this fresh impetus would find expression in more votes for the CHP. However the putsch threats and the memorandum led to the "reaction" to vote not for the CHP, but for the AKP and the MHP. (The revealed relations of the retired generals with criminal gangs and dirty businesses also played a certain role for this result). In the elections in 2002, the CHP won 177 seats in the parliament. Given the fact that the MHP got through the 10% threshold, the CHP got only 112 at this elections, 13 of them from the DSP , which came into parliament through the list of the CHP.

It is clear that from now on the bourgeois cliques will make their plans according to the new political situation:

- The army stated things with its statements and the memorandum which it cannot take back easily. In order to preserve its prestige, it issued a memorandum in which it said: "A slanderous campaign to wear down the Turkish army, which is defending the system of ideas of Ataturk is being carried out." And: "They try to wear down this illustrious institution." "We will do what is necessary." And it will try to achieve its goals under the new political conditions.

- The election results; the new political situation which emerged, show that the military front will not step back but try to undertake steps to wear down the government as they already did at February 28, 1997. Which means they will use is irrelevant. But one point is clear; the process will tighten up and continue to have the character of a "double power". This process could end in a putsch or with the surrender of the AKP. The army could also use the border-crossing operations as a way out for itself at the political arena.

- It is obvious that the USA, the EU and TUSIAD did win the elections. The statements, news in the media of the imperialist countries are indicating that. In the statements of organizations of the capital as TUSIAD, TOBB, ISO, MUSIAD and SPK it is said that they are happy with the reelection of the AKP, that the people vote for stabilization and that the economy will go on growing under the rule of the AKP.
This means that the AKP will apply its economic program, which means its neoliberal program of attacks, even more openly in future. For the imperialist forces and for TUSIAD, AKP represents "stability".
