Fatah and Hamas have reached an agreement in Mecca to form a national unity government and to put an end to the present tension. But the US imperialism and Israel are trying to use all kind of opportunity to put this agreement in vain. C. Rice had already announced their impositions before she began her visit to the Middle East. The whole problem of the US imperialism is knotted in the recognition of Israel by Palestine. The spokesperson of the US government has also spoken in the same course for the suspension of the blockade.
Although it is written in the Mecca Agreement that the national unity government -if it is formed- and in this sense Hamas will recognise the agreements that the PLO had made with Israel, Olmert announced that he will not be ready to meet with the new government as far as Palestine do not recognise Israel's right to exist. Neither the meeting of Rice, Olmert and Abbas produced a solution that would advance the process. In her speech before the meeting, Rice said that the peace process among Israel and Palestine is not a process that could be easily solved. This shows that the impositions will continue apart from whatever Palestine does.
The agreement of Fatah and Hamas to form a national unity government did not suit the interests of the imperialist forces and Israel. All the statements made before, during and after the negotiations in Mecca were carrying the sense that they (Palestinian sides) could do whatever they want, but the others would do what they want to do. Finally, Palestine could not save itself from being the side which is boycotted by imperialism, despite the agreement and despite the fact that Palestine had fulfilled the necessities of the "peace process" since 2003.
As it is known, the imperialist forces have put forward three conditions for the suspension of the boycott: a) Hamas and the Palestinian government should recognise "Israel's right to exist"; b) They should put an end to "terror" and c) They should respect the previous accords signed by PLO. If one speaks about "terror", it must be emphasised that the only responsible of this is Israel and the US imperialism. Palestine is fighting to defend itself and to achieve its national liberation. The side who respect the previous accords signed by PLO is Palestine. The side who does not respect them is Israel.
Despite that these facts are known very well, Israel and the imperialist forces impose that Palestine should recognise Israel in accordance with the concept of recognition that Israel and USA approve. It is not sufficient for them that in Mekke Agreement, Hamas accepts to respect the agreements signed with Israel. The objective is quite clear: ‘Palestine can make any concession it wants; Palestinian forces can make agreements with each other; but all these cannot help being in vain, because our aim is the recognition of Israel's right to exist. And as far as this right is not recognised, there cannot be a peace between Israel and Palestine and a Palestinian state cannot be founded'. So, by this way, they put forward a condition for the establishment of a Palestinian state - a condition which is unacceptable for the Palestinian people.
The well-known "secret" arm of Zionism is that it is quite well aware of the fact that Palestinian people will never recognise "Israel's right to exist". It was the same in all the "peace" negotiations between Israel and Palestine. The recognition of Israel's right to exist means the acceptance of the occupation of the Palestinian territories, of the massacres, of the condition that the Palestinians who were forced to leave their land and refuge to somewhere else will never turn back and of the existence of Israeli settlements on the Palestinian territories. Even if the Palestinian people would accept it, Israel would refuse it under another pretext. It has always been the same since 1948. Having the objective of expanding continuously and of establishing the Great Israel whose borders lay towards Mesopotamia, Zionism refuses to consider the recognition of itself by Palestine diplomatically as a real recognition, because it has not reached its goal yet. This is because of the reason that in this case, a certain border will be determined and to cross this border will have the meaning of occupying foreign territories. Israel does not want to accept this. Instead, Zionism imposes Palestine to recognise "Israel's right to exist". By this way, it wants to legitimise the occupation and massacres. Palestine had come to the border of a civil war by the incitement of US imperialism and Israel and under the direction of Abbas. This danger has been overcome for now. But there is no guarantee that the national unity government will be long lasting and that it will bring the expected peace to the internal forces of Palestine. Neither a true path has been taken for the solution of the Israeli-Palestinian question nor have the problems among the Palestinian forces been resolved. Now, these problems have been carried in to the national unity government and the imperialist forces and Israel in accordance with Abbas will do their best to prevent this government from being long lasting.
Intifada is the language of refusing Israel's right to exist. Intifada shows the way to the real liberation of Palestine. All the agreements made until now have resulted with the ratification of "Israel's justness" and its continuous expansion, because none of these agreements were the results of intifada.
