On the 6th Anniversary of the Massacre and the Resistance at Prisons on 19 December 2000
From Oaxaca to Spain; Turkey/Northern Kurdistan to Palestine
FREEDOM TO POLITICAL PRISONERS! Statement No:21 On 19 December 2000, Turkish colonialist fascist dictatorship organised an operation called "Return to Life" simultaneously against 20 prisons in order to put the political prisoners into F-Type isolation cells. During this massacre, which was faced with the honourable resistance of the revolutionary prisoners at all the prisons, 28 revolutionary prisoners fell as martyrs, tens of them were physically disabled and the revolutionary prisoners were taken to the F-Type isolation cells.
The death fast s showed that the revolutionary prisoners would never surrender, even in F-Type cells. They made it impossible to implement the whole "treatment concept" that was dictating surrender to the prisoners. And it was written to the history of the revolutionary struggles in the world with inerasable letters.
The isolation policy of the fascist dictatorship still continues in F-Type prisons and in Imrali, while the attacks against revolutionary prisoners continue in forms of discipline punishments, arbitrary searches, arbitrary prohibitions of visitors and letters and physical attacks with these pretexts. The revolutionary prisoners go on a hunger strike for three days against isolation on the anniversary of the massacre of 19 December. Lawyer Behic Asci, Gulcan Goruroglu and Sevgi Saymaz continue the death fast against isolation, leaving more than 200 days on death fast behind.
The attacks of raid, arrestment and imprisonment by the fascist dictatorship have been intensified further on the basis of the New Anti-terror Law which was approved by the Congress in June.
18 revolutionaries and anti-imperialists, who were imprisoned after the police attack on the demonstration of 5 September against Turkish state's decree for sending troops to Lebanon, are still in prison.
In September, more than 80 revolutionaries and communists were imprisoned as a result of the raid and arrestment terror against our party MLCP and socialist newspapers, trade unions and associations.
Tens of Kurdish patriots were imprisoned through the raids and attacks against Kurdish press and the organisations of the Kurdish national movement, and after the Kurdish uprisings against the counter-guerrilla massacres in Northern Kurdistan.
Recently on 27 November, the German state raided the Anatolian Associations in Germany through the operations which were claimed to be conducted against DHKP-C and it imprisoned 2 revolutionaries. After this, more than ten revolutionary associations and newspapers were raided in the same context in Istanbul on 7 December and 15 revolutionaries were imprisoned.
Imperialism means fascism, reaction and war. The imperialist forces and their collaborators intensify their attacks against the working class, labouring masses and oppressed nations in order to be able to protect their system and continue their exploitation and plunder. Resistance against the neoliberal destruction, occupation, war, repression, torture, arrestment, imprisonment and the anti-terror laws of imperialism is being raised all over the world.
The anger of the world peoples at the tortures of US imperialism in Abu Graib and Guantanamo has been sharpening for the last three years.
While the resistance of Palestinian people against the Zionist Israeli attacks with the support of USA and the other imperialist forces continues, the freedom desire of the Palestinian prisoners including Ahmad Saadat who was kidnapped through the collaboration of Israel, USA and EU is surmounting the walls of prisons.
The comrades from PCE(r) who were captured in 2000 through the collaboration of Spanish and French bourgeoisies and who have spent more than 20 years in prisons still continue their fight in prisons despite heavy health problems that they suffer.
The peoples of Oaxaca are giving a heroic fight against the attacks of the Mexican state who aims to suffocate their resistance in fire and blood. In this resistance, nearly 200 fighters of Oaxaca, including Flavio Sosa from the state council of APPO, have been imprisoned and sent to high security prisons.
The Mapuche prisoners in Chile, the political prisoners in Argentine, India and everywhere on the earth where the working class and labouring masses increase their resistance and struggle against the imperialist capitalist system raise their voice for freedom.
The attacks of imperialism and fascism to end the fight for revolution and socialism in the name of revolutionary prisoners will not be successful. Communist and revolutionary prisoners will never surrender.
Our party MLCP calls upon all the progressive, revolutionary and communist forces to increase the international solidarity with the revolutionary prisoners and to increase the resistance against the imperialist reaction and imprisonment attacks, through sending solidarity letters, through solidarity actions and activities, protests in front of the embassies and through sending international delegations to the trials of the revolutionary prisoners.
