The net of solidarity made in Turkey and Northern Kurdistan against the attack and imprisonment terror of the Turkish fascist state in September, which comprises the progressive and revolutionary sections of the society, is extending more and more. The persistence and determinacy which was shown against the wave of attack, which the Turkish state carried out based on the anti-terror lay, which he had adopted for the intimidation and liquidation of the communist and revolutionary movement and the struggle of the Kurdish people, first of all against the communist, led to disappointment for him. When our party, which according to the announcement of the show-press declaration had been destroyed, declared through its Central Committee that it is still on the top of the struggle, the fascist dictatorship came into a difficult situation. Afterwards, since September 21, it exercised terror all over the country with such a ruthlessness that reminded at the times of the military junta, by raiding and destroying democratic and socialist organizations as ESP , the newspaper Atilim, the Günes Agency, the newspaper Dayanisma, the radio station Özgür Radyo, the cultural center BEKSAV , the offices of the magazine Sanat ve Hayat (Art and Live), the EKD , trade-unions like Tekstil-Sen and Limter-Is and the SGD with special forces, confiscating all the computers and archives, and detaining ca. 150 representatives and workers and imprisoning 70 of them. It wanted to destroy the political will. But our party and these organizations have been exposed to attacks of the state many times. But none of such attacks could force our party and these organizations to their knees. The communist will was able to confront each attack by the trust and the determinacy concerning itself and the working class and to reorganize itself every time at an even higher level. Again, against this last attack the same determinacy in the resistance was shown with slogans like "the hope is on its feed" and "You are not strong enough to defeat us".
The progressive and revolutionary circles, who understood the dimensions of the attacks and that they target the whole social opposition, have created a broad solidarity network with our party and the organizations exposed to the attacks. All organizations have successfully continued their work. More than 200 intellectuals, authors and journalists have declared their solidarity with the newspaper Atilim by working one day in its office or by sending articles. The intellectuals, artists and cultural centers have defended BEKSAV and its chairman, who was in danger of being imprisoned. The solidarity with the other organizations, first of all with the trade-unions attacked, is continuously growing.
The ESP set itself the goal to integrate the social opposition against these attacks of the state against the democratic rights and freedoms through campaigns and different means of struggle into a united struggle. The attacked will puts the question of the social freedom on the agenda and thus turns itself into a barricade preventing the others from being attacked with the "we want freedom" campaign and the "Red Saturdays" taking place every Saturday, which were started in Istanbul and already spread to all Turkey and Northern Kurdistan.
The international revolutionary solidarity since the September-attack increases from Argentina, Spain, Serbia up to India, from Italy to Canada, from Greece to France and England. The solidarity which developed in different countries after the attack now goes on even stronger in a central campaign. By means of the campaign "we want freedom, freedom for the 10 September prisoners" launched in Europe people are protesting the Turkish state and demanding the release of the representatives and workers of the attacked organizations. The campaign, which also uses an information folder in order to introduce the attacked organizations on the international level, also proposes some possible forms of international solidarity to the progressive and revolutionary circles:
- To send delegations to the trial of the prisoners. Participation of international lawyers in the trial.
- Meetings in front of the Turkish consulates on the day of the trial.
- To support of the protests against the attacks through the collection of signatures.
- To include the campaign in all international actions and make known the attacks of the Turkish state against the democratic rights and freedoms.
The campaign, which already goes beyond the borders of Europe, brings the problem of freedoms in Turkey and Northern Kurdistan once more on the agenda of the world.
Our party calls upon all progressive, revolutionary and communist forces at the international level to support this campaign.
