To the Public

Greek state, in the last period, has increased its pressure and attacks against revolutionaries from Turkey and Kurdistan. These pressures and attacks are addressed together with anti-immigration policies. Due to "illegally crossing" of Turkey-Greece border, violence and torture practices against refugees and news telling that they are being extradited take place in the press. Again, refugees are held in concentration camps in extremely inhumane conditions, and news that women and children have been harassed are also coming from the camps.

In particular, after detaining the people, who left Turkey and crossed Greece with their open political identities due to the oppression, arrest and torture assault of the fascist TR state, Greek police repatriates them to Turkey illegally without following even its own laws. These political refugees are subjected to repression and torture by the TR forces upon their return. They are being arrested by Turkish courts and threatened with imprisonment for long years.

All these practices are subject to Human Rights Watch's statements. 24 separate cases of illegal push back over the Maritsa river has been reported in the statement. It has been stated that masked Greek police or masked persons wearing uniforms without prominent crests; have been beating and torturing immigrants and asylum seekers, sending them back to Turkey on underwear by confiscating their personal belongings, especially money and identification, and by taking over their clothes and shoes.

People who are trying to help their families and friends against this inhumane and systematic attack of the police and the gangs on the Greek border are facing then the "smuggling" accusations of the Greek state at this time and they are imprisoned or face threat of imprisonment for many years.
Although their political identity is clear, the revolutionaries have been arrested on false charges. Recently, two revolutionaries, Abdullah Gürlek and Vedat Yeler, were taken into custody on 13 February and were arrested and placed in the Komotini Prison. And they're still captive.

It is clear that these policies, implemented by the Greek state, are not independent of racist, fascist and anti-immigrant policies in the world and European countries. At every opportunity, European countries speak of TR and the fascist dictatorship of Erdogan" but with these practices they become partners in fascism's oppression, torture and imprisonment policies.

Greek state and Syriza government must put an immediate end to these policies imposed against immigrants, revolutionaries from Turkey and Kurdistan. Violence, torture, repatriation and retention in immigrants should be abandoned. In particular, it is necessary to stop the extradition of persons who have an open political identity and who are seeking asylum, to the Turkish Republic illegally. The arrest of revolutionaries, whose political identities are open, must be stopped and the must be released immediately.

End the policies applied to immigrants!
Stop illegal extraditions!
Freedom to all political prisoners!
Long live revolutionary solidarity!
