15 PKK and PAJK prisoners have announced they will turn their hunger strike into death fast on 30 April.

The prisoners have been on hunger strike from December and March (when all prisoners joined the resistance) to demand the end of isolation against Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

In the statement, the death fast is referred to as the next stage of the resistance. All other PKK and PAJK prisoners will continue their indefinite hunger strike.

The hunger strikers refer in their statement again to their declaration, in which the conditions for ending their action are set out. If serious and lasting steps are taken by the state to ensure the demands highlighted in the declaration, in particular the end of Abdullah Öcalan's isolation, the hunger strikers are prepared to end their action.
