Arrested HDP MP Leyla Güven on Hunger Strike

With the demand to remove the isolation on Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan, Hakkari deputy Leyla Güven is on hunger strike for 28 days.


In many cities of Turkey, actions are continuously carried out to support Leyla Güven. In order to support Leyla Güven, Istanbul MPs of HDP , Hüda Kaya, Saruhan Oluç, Ali Kenanoğlu and Dilşat Canbaz Kaya started a 3-day hunger strike.


A delegation of the Socialist Party of the Oppressed ( ESP ) Istanbul Provincial Organization also visited the hunger strike deputies. ESP members were welcomed by Ali Kenanoğlu, Saruhan Oluç and Dilşat Canbaz Kaya. Huda Kaya was unable to take part in the welcoming group due to her discomfort.

 

During the visit, ESP spokeperson said, his isolation must be broken to end these massacres. Today, with the same demand, Kurdish patriotic prisoners started their hunger strikes. Increasing this demand is politically a duty of everyone. We have put ourselves at the forefront of combating alongside with HDP. Finally, Leyla Güven is right, isolation must be broken."


HDP MPs stated their gratitude for the visit of ESP members.
