The Pride March, which the governorship of Istanbul has forbidden as it has been for the past 4 years, has been a massive action despite the police attack. Gathered in Taksim İstiklal Street, thousands made a press statement after the police blockage of the street. After the statement, the people in the mass, which did not disperse and made a hole in the ban as de-facto, walked on the streets with slogans. Then the police attacked the mass with plastic bullets, pepper gas and police dogs. At least 5 people were taken into custody.
Once again, the courageous stance of LGBTIs against police violence pointed to the way in which the social opposition should be pursued. In the face of the fascist attacks of the state, LGBTIs succeeded in attracting thousands of people to the streets with their selforganizing.
