Two strategic industrial institutes of Turkey, TUPRAS and Erdemir are the targets of privatization attacks. The imperialist and the collaborator monopolist groups have started a race to confiscate Tupras which was put on a bid. As the target of the plunder was growing, the conflicts and the contradictions between the privatizators growed, too. The holdings which are collaborators of imperialism pretend to be "nationalist", the participation of a israelian capitalist to the bid reminded the rival monopoles "patriotism".

But as well among the workers, who will loose their jobs and thus their future through the privatisation attacks, there are first reactions of angry struggle and resistance. The workers of the enterprise TDCPRAS laid down work when the factory has been sold and the workers of the enterprise Erdemir blocked the highway Ankara-Istanbul. The workers organised in the Union Petrol-Is refused to work on 8th September and put up "Guard tents for the home-land" in front of their work place. And they called upon the other workers to defend their jobs and upon "everybody who loves its home-land to take guard in the tents"

The struggle against privatizations contains an anti-imperialist position of the workers as well as their class anger. But the real content of this position is tried to be liquidated under the name of "defense of the fatherland" by the syndical burocracy and reformist parties. They are causing a great illusion by making a choice between two falses and preferring that KIT should be sold to "national capital", rather than being sold to the imperialist and collaborator capital. Salih Kilic, the leader of the biggest union of Turkey which is named as Turk-Is , demanded that Erdemir "should be given to the national enterprises but not to the foreign enterprises".

H. Hisarciklioglu, who is the president of TOBB, the bosses' organization declared that they have formed a common initiative group for the bid and said "We are aiming to make Erdemir one of the 5 biggest productors of Europe and one of the top 10 of the world instead of leaving it to be a little part of the multinational firms.", as if themselves represent the "national capital".

The generals who are the owners of OYAK who have been fed by the KIT until today declared that they are solicitors of these enterprises in the name of "national capital".

These declarations actualized again the question "What kind of a opposition to the privatizations for the success of the struggle?".

Privatization means on the one hand containment of the state capitalist sector in the interest of the bourgeoisie and on the other hand to condemn the workers working in this sector to flexible work and finally to unemployment and disorganisation of the workers. Privatisations not only ruin the workers but the whole people because in addition to the enterprises of KIT, they also privatize the sector of education and health. Thus, they sell not the home-land but the future of the workers and labourers and rob the achieved rights of the working class.

Therefore, the main question is not if the privatized enterprise is sold within the country or to abroad. Capital is not looking at the nation, but at the profit. Everywhere the capitalists try to get more and more out of the human labour of the workers.

Tupras and Erdemir workers have no other way of solution but taking the resisting SEKA and Seydisehir workers as examples. They can fight back these attacks only by overcoming the advices of the reformist parties and advancing in the line of fight which de facto wins legitimacy.

As a representative of ESP expressed in his declaration when he visited the resistance places, "The IMF policies are being realized by house demolitions as well as privatizations. The only solution to these attacks for us as toilers is to organize the united resistance of people." And this is the real way to win.
