Trans-Woman Diren Coşkun has started a death fast in Tekirdağ No. 2 Prison since January 25 due to severe prison conditions. The right for medical care, including surgery, is restricted. The prison authorities responded with threats to her action. In August 2017, the Keskesor activist was arrested. LGBTI activists spread the news of the death fast via twitter. Diren said during a prisoner visit that she would rather die than live under isolation conditions. The prisoners are subjected to many degrading and arbitrary measures. Two trans women are currently in Men's prison of Tekirdağ.
