The union of shipyard workers, Limter-İş , which is tied to the federation of trade unions DİSK , held a press meeting on 11th of January in front of GİSBİR (the organization of the shipyard bosses) in regard of the campaign they started against working without social security registration. The campaign is now lasting for almost 80 days and draw attention of the workers in the worker basin of shipyard area in Istanbul.

In this press meeting, the workers held the banner saying "No to the unlawful work. Our social security prims must be paid on the level of our wages. No to the usurpation of our AGİ's" (AGİ is the minimum living discount). The workers shouted "long live the class solidarity" and "our insurance right cannot be stolen". BEKSAV , ESP and İnşaat-İş (trade union of construction workers) also joined the meeting and supported the campaign.
